This month's featured session is solo piano. I experimented with the M/S (Mid/Side) microphone technique on this performance and it came out well. I used a Royer R122 as the Mid and a Gefell UMT-70s in figure 8 as the Side. Since this was a live informal setting (lunchtime concert series) I got a little closer to eliminate the noisy munching and rustling sounds. Recorded into my Oade modified Marantz PMD-660 at 44/16.
